SUMMARY:Tekton exhibition - 7.4-7.8.2025
DESCRIPTION:The PSI Foundation is proud to announce the opening of the Tekton exhibition in its premises to be visited from April 7\, 2025. The exhibition will be the first to showcase the visionary work of Andreas Papadopoulos and Phoebus Polydorides\, a pioneering engineer-architect duo active in Limassol in the late 1950s and early 1960s. \nAndreas Papadopoulos (1922–2009) was a skilled engineer and an active advocate for the independence of Cyprus\, later serving as the Minister of Transport and Works in the country’s first independent government. \nPhoebus Polydorides (1926–2019) played a key role in defining Limassol’s urban aesthetic\, designing several iconic buildings\, including Aktaia\, which became a landmark of the city’s modernist transformation. \nThe Tekton exhibition delves into the evolution of Modernist architecture in Cyprus\, highlighting its role as a powerful symbol of the country’s newfound sovereignty and as a response to the colonial architectural style of the first half of the 20th century. It examines the achievements of Papadopoulos and Polydorides\, who introduced innovative architectural forms into the Cypriot landscape and proposed important urban solutions that shaped the identity of the evolving country. Unpublished archival materials offer a rare glimpse into the duo’s contributions to Cyprus’ cultural and architectural heritage. \nThe revolutionary approach is further developed by a site-specific installation by British artist Matt Collishaw Aftermath. Specially created for the dramatic modernist interior of the PSI Foundation in 2024 it serves as a bridge between the past and the future via the unique dialogue on cultural transformation that incorporates artificial intelligence. \nTekton is curated by Dimitri Ozerkov\, Chief Curator of PSI Foundation and former director of the Contemporary Art Department at the Hermitage Museum\, and Danila Parniouk\, acclaimed photographer and Art Director of PSI Foundation. The exhibition will run through August 2025 and will be open to the public free of charge in the working hours available at https://psi.art. \nThe Parallel Program to the exhibition kicks off on March 22\, at 18:00\, with an Artist Talk “The Body in Excess\, Zombies\, Cyborgs & Chimeras\,” by renowned Limassol-born performance artist Stelarc. \nThe non-profit PSI Foundation was established in Limassol in 2024 with the mission to support and cultivate the thriving artistic landscape of Cyprus. Central to its vision is the promotion of contemporary art in dialogue with technology. Through curated exhibitions\, collaborative projects\, and creative sessions\, the Foundation strives to challenge perceptions about the convergence of art and technology and inspire audiences to explore new realms of possibility. As part of its dedication to showcasing the rich tapestry of Cypriot art\, the Foundation proudly supported the Cyprus National Pavilion at the 60th Venice Biennale and hosted several networking events. In 2024 PSI Foundation commissioned Casts of an Island 2024\, an exhibition to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the division of the island of Cyprus. \nAnother mission of the Foundation consists of preserving the historic Carob Warehouse of Limassol and envisaging its future use. The Tekton exhibition presents the results of deep archival research of the building and proposes to envisage its future. \nOperation hours: \n\nThursday – Friday: 17:00–22:00\nSaturday: 11:00–14:00 & 17:00–22:00\n\nTours:\n From Saturday 26th of April.  Free guided tours in Greek and English begin. SUMMARY:Evgeny Grinko: Conert in Kourion - 6.7.2025
DESCRIPTION:Celebrity Gala presents: \nFor the very first time in Cyprus — Evgeny Grinko’s live performance at the ancient amphitheatre of Kourion! \nOne evening. One grand piano. A string quartet. And a stage where 2\,000 years of history meet the cinematic pulse of neoclassical music.\n⠀\nEvgeny Grinko\, the acclaimed composer and pianist whose music resonates across Europe\, will perform in Cyprus for the very first time — as part of his Summer Europe Tour. \nHis compositions are intimate and magnetic — blending gentle piano with orchestral textures and deep emotional current. Often called the Eastern European Einaudi\, Grinko’s sound evokes comparison with Max Richter\, Yann Tiersen\, and Ólafur Arnalds — yet remains uniquely his own. \nOn this night\, under the stars\, his most beloved pieces will be performed surrounded by candlelight and the spellbinding acoustics of the ancient Kourion theatre. \nEvgeny Grinko’s first — and possibly only — concert in Cyprus. Capacity is limited — this is an open-air venue with a once-in-a-lifetime atmosphere. \n  \nFor the tickets click here
