DESCRIPTION:During the event there will be stands presenting the preparation of traditional Cypriot dishes. \nStand/Booth 1: “Zivania” (alcohol drink) Distillation.\nThe visitor will have the opportunity to participate in the whole distillation process. Starting with the filling the boiler up to testing the final product.\nStand 2: Preparation of “palouzes”(grape must dessert)\nAt the “palouze”) making stand the visitors will be able to prepare their own palouze with the guidance of the volunteer in charge of the stand. At the end of the process\, you will be able to taste the final product.\nStand 3: “Soujoukos” Dipping.\nIn Stand 3 there will be ready-made threads embroidered with walnut and almond nuts “katsounia” and he will be able to dip into the thick palouze must as many times as necessary until it reaches the desired diameter. At the stand there will also be a ready finished product for the visitor to try.\nStand 4: Preparation of “halloumi” and “anari”(Cyprus cheese products).\nThe visitor will watch the preparation process from the cutting of the halloumi to the collection of the anari. The visitor will be able to watch the making of the pastel\, taste the final product and buy if they wish.\nStand 7: Preparation of traditional bread in a wood-fired oven.\nAt the venue of the event there will be the traditional wood oven where it will be fired in the traditional way. In this booth\, the visitor will be able to watch the kneading process and the making of the bread. He will then be able to watch and take part in the baking process. There will be ready-made breads for guests to sample and if they wish to purchase.\nStand 8: Basket weaving/weaving and making a tonneau chair.\nIn charge of this stand will be the craftsman Athinodoros Georgiou who is an experienced basket weaver and will demonstrate basket weaving/weaving and tying a toned chair. Visitor will be able to take part in the process and listen to the narration of the history of basket weaving.\nStand 9: Traditional sausages.\nStand 9 will present the traditional sausages made in our village by the company Kostas Tomazou Ltd. The visitor will have the opportunity to try a variety of sausages and listen to the description of their preparation. There will be packaged deli meats for anyone who wishes to purchase.\nArtistic part \n\n\n		Cypriot traditional band “Mihalis Hatzimichail”. With Andri Karantoni on vocals.\n\n		Agios Epifanios Dance Group.\n\n		Dance group “I Vourka”.\n\nThe dance groups will present traditional Cypriot dances and audience will be welcomed to participate.\nA large grape press will be placed on stage. Mr. Athinodoros Georgiou will appear on stage accompanied by a cute donkey loaded with crates full of grapes. Then\, dancers and Mr. Athinodoros will present in an artistic way the filling of the winepress with the grapes and the pressing of the grapes and distillation of the must. The public will have the opportunity to stomp the grapes and revive this custom that our grandparents grew up with.\n  \n\n\n		Presentation of Cypriot traditional dance of glasses by Mr. Dino Kkanti.\n\nThe audience will be invited to place the glasses and dance. DESCRIPTION:From ethnic and jazz to techno and electronic music: dedicated to wind instruments\, Windcraft Music Fest returns to Katydata with the promise to make you dance! \n	Windcraft Music Fest is preparing a groovy comeback\, with an international line up of bands that infuse musical traditions of the world with jazz and electronic dance beats. The 8th edition of the Windcraft Music Fest will take place at the village of Katydata (Nicosia district) on 5\, 6 and 7 August 2022\, setting up a fiesta for people of all ages where wind instruments have the starring role. Next to the concerts\, the festival will include 3-day seminars for winds and voice\, various workshops and an interactive parallel programme. \n	This year’s concert programme includes selected Cypriot and international bands that will present original compositions. Combining modern sounds with the musical traditions from around the world\, they will create a mixture of musical styles that will carry us away in a range of emotions and will surely make us dance. Four renowned international bands stand out\, in which wind instruments have a leading role: Fanfara Station (Italy\, Tunisia\, USA)\, which blends brass with Maghrep songs and electronic sounds; Bobby Rausch (Germany) which uses drums and two low-pitched instruments to transfer us to the dancefloors of Berlin; the trio of guitarist and trumpet player Ofer Mizrahi (Israel) who combines the music of the West with that of the East with great sensitivity; and the energetic band Technobrass (Brazil) that transmits the energy of techno music using only brass and percussion. From Cyprus\, two exceptional groups featuring outstanding young musicians will be hosted: the project “Hará” of flutist Eleonora Roussou and the quintet of guitarist Alexis Kasinos.\n	Musical performances will also unfold in the narrow streets and squares of the village\, with the Alarga Ensemble\, the Tropos Ensemble and the Windcraft Band presenting traditional music from Cyprus and the wider region\, while spontaneous musical encounters and jam sessions will accompany us until the early morning hours.  During the festival\, the audience will also be able to visit an in situ sound installation by composer Stella N. Christou that will be created after an on-site research in the village. \n	 \n	Experienced and distinguished musicians and educators will participate in the festival’s educational programme\, offering musical seminars: Giannis Diskos (Imam Baildi\, Mousiko Kouti-ERT) will coordinate a workshop on Balkan music for wind instruments; the musicians of Bobby Rausch will present the use of acoustic and electronic effects in their performance; and Elena Xyda will moderate an acapella vocal ensemble. In addition\, Elenitsa Georgiou will teach young children traditional songs\, creating a choir of sweet voices\, while Alice Ayvazian and Kalia Loizidou will present a workshop that integrates blues singing with dance.  \n	Finally\, the parallel programme of the festival is topped with activities and performances for the whole family: the musical-narrative performance “In two paper shoes” with Marina Katsari and Giannis Koutis\, the presentation of the new poetry collection of George Papaconstantinou “Iliovouttiman”\, a cyanotype workshop with wild flowers and herbs\, as well as quizzes and exploration games in the village. \n	Windcraft Music Fest is a musical celebration that puts artistic creation at the spotlight and invites everyone to participate by sharing experiences and moments of fun. At the same time\, it actively involves the Katydata community in the event\, showcasing the stories\, traditions and topography of the village through specific activities. The event harmoniously combines traditional with modern arts and rural life with contemporary artistic creation\, while seeking to contribute to the development of a community of interaction and inclusion by overcoming cultural and age boundaries. He arrived in Madrid in 1968\, and survived by selling used items in the flea-market called El Rastro. Almodóvar couldn’t study filmmaking because he didn’t have the money to afford it. Besides\, the filmmaking schools were closed in early 70s by Franco’s government. Instead\, he found a job in the Spanish phone company and saved his salary to buy a Super 8 camera. From 1972 to 1978\, he devoted himself to make short films with the help of of his friends. The “premieres” of those early films were famous in the rapidly growing world of the Spanish counter-culture. In few years\, Almodóvar became a star of “La Movida”\, the pop cultural movement of late 70s Madrid. His first feature film\, Pepi\, Luci\, Bom and Other Girls Like Mom (1980)\, was made in 16 mm and blown-up to 35 mm for public release. In 1987\, he and his brother Agustín Almodóvar established their own production company: El Deseo\, S. A. In the specially designed SEK parking place\, behind the Theatre\, the stage of the Cyprus Rialto World Music Festival is set up for another year\, ready to welcome under the stars\, bands and musicians.\n	 \n	This year’s Festival program continues\, as in recent years\, to focus on bands and musicians active in Cyprus\, giving them the opportunity to present to the audience their latest work. The six bands\, selected through an open call for applications\, will feature music that combines rhythms\, colors and sounds. Music where the tradition meets jazz\, flamenco\, the sounds of the East and the Mediterranean\, giving the opportunity to locals and visitors to Cyprus to appreciate lesser known music\, but recognizable and fascinating.\n	 \n	In the framework of the Cyprus Rialto World Music Festival\, the successful institution of Rialto Residency takes place for the 10th consecutive year. \n\n	ChoralCrossroads is an institution of Epilogi Cultural Movement that started in 2011 and continued in 2013\, 2018 and 2019 with the participation of hundreds of choirs from Europe and the Arab world. This institution continued in 2021\, where\, in the midst of a pandemic\, 42 choirs from 6 countries\, using technology\, united their voices by performing the well-known Cypriot song “The Milia”.\n	 \n	In this year’s event\, choirs from Europe and the Arab world meet again with choirs from Cyprus\, creating together a choir and an original program which combines the musical tradition of their countries\, with songs dedicated to woman and life. The result of the four-day collaboration (14th – 17th of July) of this multinational choir will be presented to the public\, in the context of CyprusRialtoWorldMusicFestival.\n	 \n	Choir members participate from Jordan (Nai Choir)\, Lebanon (UniversitéSaint – JosephChoir)\, Greece (Choir of I.N. But I realise that people see a movie about a lot more than just drinking. SUMMARY:13th Pancyprian Cultural Watermelon Festival
DESCRIPTION:After the postponements of the last years due to the coronavirus pandemic\, the Community Council of Frenaros returns dynamically with the organization of the 13th   Pancyprian Cultural Watermelon Festival. The festival is scheduled for July 08\, 2022\, at 8:15pm at the Community Stadium of Frenaros.\n \nAmong the goals of the festival\, apart from the promotion of watermelon cultivation\, is the promotion of products based on watermelon\, such as watermelon sweets\, watermelon ice cream and watermelon cocktails\, as well as the creation of new and original gastronomic recipes.  With the support of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism and in association with the Cyprus Chef’s Association we organize a specialized workshop for professional chefs and restaurateurs\, on the subject of “Watermelon Gastronomy”. The aim of these workshops is to include these new and original recipes in special menus for the summer season in restaurants. The workshop will take place at the Cyprus Millers Academy (Hadjigiorkis Flourmill) on July 6 2022 from 10:30 AM until 2:00 PM.\n \nDuring the Festival\, the visitor will taste sweet watermelon\, watermelon ice cream as well as watermelon cocktails. With the participation of all the organized groups of our community\, the visitor will have the opportunity to get to know traditional professions\, such as the preparation of traditional red-haired halloumi and the construction of traditional chairs.
