SUMMARY:Become A Beekeeper for A Day
DESCRIPTION:During the workshop “Become a Beekeeper for a Day” guests watch two short documentaries on life and importance of bees as well as the threats they face\, and a brief discussion follows in the Educational Hall. Guests are then prepared to visit the beehives wearing the whole-body beekeeper’s suit available in all sizes to ensure safety from any bee sting. When visiting a nearby apiary we monitor the working bees at work\, we identify the one and only queen of bees and observe their organization and products insight the beehives. Depending on the season\, various practical manipulations of the beekeeper are carried out for the inspection of hives such as the control of the parasitic varroa mite\, the collection of honeycombs\, the collection of propolis\, the feeding\, etc. After the inspection of the hives is finished\, we return to the honey extraction and bottling laboratory where a guided tour and practical use (where possible) of the machines takes place. SUMMARY:Unique Beeswax Candle making workshop
DESCRIPTION:During the workshop “Creating unique natural beeswax candles”\, our guests initially watchtwo short documentaries on life and importance of bees as well as the threats they face\, and a brief discussion specifically about the beeswax productionwithin the Educational Hall. In the same Hall\, visitors can observe the bees working insight a glass hive. Subsequently\, visitors attend and participate in the entire production process of various kinds of natural candles with and/or without the addition of essential oils. Boil pieces of beeswax using Bain marie method\, mix other oils of our choice and prepare the molds and wicks that we will need. At the same time\, prepare the wax plates to make pillar candles. After the mixture is prepared\, pour it into the molds and decorate our candles using various fresh herbs or other objects. Until our candles are solidified\, we visit the laboratory for the export of honey and other beekeeping products where a guided tour and practical use (where possible) of the machines takes place. DESCRIPTION:Historia de um amor is a music project inspired by Cuban sounds and the Cuban tradition with the aim to introduce the rich Cuban music culture to Cypriot audiences through an entertaining\, joyful\, summer evening. A group of young professionals and acclaimed musicians took the initiative to select well-known and more traditional Cuban tunes\, and arrange them in a unique cross-cultured\, musical way to perform them in the style of a concert merging Cuban styles with personal musical influences. \nThe name Historia de um amor is translated into “A Love Story” and it is based on one of the most famous and most translated Spanish songs of all time\, composed by Panamanian songwriter Carlos Eleta Almarán. The artistic style of the concert together with the Cuban concept and atmosphere will perfectly suit the summer climate of Cyprus and enrich the music events scene of August. \nThe 5-piece ensemble will be led by award-winning trumpet player Giannis Koudounas\, a young Cypriot artist who is rapidly establishing himself as one of the most talented performers in Cyprus and the United Kingdom. Giannis has recently completed his Master’s degree in Trumpet Performance at the Royal Holloway University of London\, awarded with the Principle’s Scholarship. DESCRIPTION:During the workshop “Become a Beekeeper for a Day” guests watch two short documentaries on life and importance of bees as well as the threats they face\, and a brief discussion follows in the Educational Hall. Guests are then prepared to visit the beehives wearing the whole-body beekeeper’s suit available in all sizes to ensure safety from any bee sting. When visiting a nearby apiary we monitor the working bees at work\, we identify the one and only queen of bees and observe their organization and products insight the beehives. SUMMARY:Become A Beekeeper for A Day
DESCRIPTION:During the workshop “Become a Beekeeper for a Day” guests watch two short documentaries on life and importance of bees as well as the threats they face\, and a brief discussion follows in the Educational Hall. Guests are then prepared to visit the beehives wearing the whole-body beekeeper’s suit available in all sizes to ensure safety from any bee sting. When visiting a nearby apiary we monitor the working bees at work\, we identify the one and only queen of bees and observe their organization and products insight the beehives. Depending on the season\, various practical manipulations of the beekeeper are carried out for the inspection of hives such as the control of the parasitic varroa mite\, the collection of honeycombs\, the collection of propolis\, the feeding\, etc. After the inspection of the hives is finished\, we return to the honey extraction and bottling laboratory where a guided tour and practical use (where possible) of the machines takes place. SUMMARY:Unique Beeswax Candle making workshop
DESCRIPTION:During the workshop “Creating unique natural beeswax candles”\, our guests initially watchtwo short documentaries on life and importance of bees as well as the threats they face\, and a brief discussion specifically about the beeswax productionwithin the Educational Hall. In the same Hall\, visitors can observe the bees working insight a glass hive. Subsequently\, visitors attend and participate in the entire production process of various kinds of natural candles with and/or without the addition of essential oils. Boil pieces of beeswax using Bain marie method\, mix other oils of our choice and prepare the molds and wicks that we will need. At the same time\, prepare the wax plates to make pillar candles. After the mixture is prepared\, pour it into the molds and decorate our candles using various fresh herbs or other objects. Until our candles are solidified\, we visit the laboratory for the export of honey and other beekeeping products where a guided tour and practical use (where possible) of the machines takes place.
