DESCRIPTION:On the occasion of the Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union\n	 \n	Lemesos: Thursday 24 November 2022\, Pattihio Municipal Theatre\, 20:30\n	Lefkosia: Friday 25 November 2022\, Nicosia Municipal Theatre\, 20:30\n	 \n	The Cyprus Symphony Orchestra\, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Nicosia celebrate the Czech Republic’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union\, presenting a concert with the most beautiful orchestral\, operatic and choral music by the great Czech composers Bedřich Smetana and Antonín Dvořák. The CySO is delighted to be joined in these concerts by the Prague Mixed Choir\, the ARIS Choir of Limassol\, as well as the brilliant Cypriot singers Mariza Anastasiades – soprano and Markos Kleovoulou – baritone.\n	 \n	Under the baton of CySO Conductor Günter Neuhold\, the audience will enjoy romantic masterpieces by Smetana and Dvořák\, such as the symphonic poem The Moldau\, selected Slavonic dances\, highlights from the opera Rusalka and the comic operaThe Bartered Bride\, as well as Dvořák’s Te Deum. SUMMARY:The Magical World of Lieder
DESCRIPTION:A recital dedicated to the Magical World of Lieder will close this year’s Weeks of the German Language\, on November 26th at Rialto Theatre in Limassol.\n	 \n	The recital is an on-stage musical collaboration between Cypriot sopranos Chryso Makariou and Mariza Anastasiadiou who have proven through their performances\, their love and devotion to the delicate but also contemplative world of the scholarly song\, the Lied.\n	Together with pianist Ζbynek Maruska\, they share with the audience the great compositions of Brahms\, Schubert and Strauß and poetry by J.W. von Goethe\,  H. Heine.  H. Hart and other german-language poets\, who with their words have illuminated the aesthetic direction of the romantic music of the 19th century. \n	The programme is enriched with works for piano by Swiss composer Jοachim Raff and by Ludwig van Beethoven. \n	The musicians are also accompanied by actor and director Achilleas Grammatikopoulos\, who makes his mark with a two-way communication between the spoken word and music.\n	Reservations rquired at https://rialto.interticket.com \n	This tribute the German-language song/Lied is organized by the Embassies of Austria\, Germany and Switzerland in Cyprus.
