The Orchestra anticipates with much joy its first collaboration with the world-class oboist Céline Moinet\, who has been praised as “…flawless throughout: her sound is a delight\, her technique impeccable and her stamina…superhuman”. At the podium we welcome back the amazing conductor Patrick Gallois\, renowned for his commanding brilliance and outstanding recordings with NAXOS. \nFrancis Poulenc’s Sinfonietta opens the programme with its playful wit and lyrical grace\, a delightful piece of neoclassical brilliance. Oboist Céline Moinet will enchant us with Jean Françaix’s L’horloge de flore\, a whimsical and evocative musical depiction of flowers blooming through the hours of the day\, brimming with colour and subtlety. Guided by this philosophy\, the Easter Concerts aim to offer audiences a unique musical experience\, filled with emotion and spirituality. \nThe program focuses on the power of the human voice\, as expressed through the great vocal works of the European musical tradition. Words and music intertwine in a seamless harmony of emotions – love\, sorrow\, lamentation\, and faith – mirroring the dramatic passage from the Crucifixion to the Resurrection.
