Over its remarkable history\, spanning more than two decades\, the Festival has hosted some of the most legendary soloists and music ensembles in the world\, bringing chamber music to the forefront of cultural life in Cyprus\, while elevating the island’s standing on the global artistic stage. \nYear after year\, the International Pharos Chamber Music Festival presents a compelling and richly diverse programme of chamber music\, spanning from the baroque to the 21st century\, offering audiences a profound and ever-evolving musical journey. At the same time\, it remains deeply rooted in its mission to serve the community\, opening the world of chamber music to a broader audience and offering transformative educational opportunities to students across the island. \nHeld annually in the Royal Manor House of Kouklia – a remarkable testament to Frankish architecture and a UNESCO World Heritage site – the Festival adapts this historic venue into a space where tradition and artistic expression converge. The intimacy of chamber music\, performed by the best musicians in the world\, blending seamlessly with the enchanted atmosphere of the surroundings\, make the International Pharos Chamber Music Festival a cornerstone of the international classical music calendar and a source of inspiration for all who attend. \nThe 24th International Pharos Chamber Music Festival comprises five chamber concerts\, from 27 until 31 May at the Royal Manor House in Kouklia\, performed by 19 of the world’s leading virtuosos. Orchestral works\, polyphonic settings and beloved songs will showcase the beauty\, sensitivity and the humanity that are the hallmarks of the work of this distinguished creator. DESCRIPTION:YOUNG PIANISTS GALA CONCERT AND COMPETITION FINALS \nPart of “Chopin in Cyprus” presented by the Nashville International Chopin Piano Competition \nUnder the auspices of the Deputy Minister of Culture\, Dr. Vassiliki Kassianidou \nThe YOUNG PIANISTS GALA CONCERT forms the brilliant culmination and closure of the international piano festival and concerto competition “Chopin in Cyprus”\, organized by the Nashville International Chopin Piano Competition with support from the Mediterranean Performing Arts Festival and in the collaboration with the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra. \nUnder the baton of the world-renowned conductor Charles Olivieri-Munroe\, the concert gives platform to two exceptionally talented young pianists\, the two finalists of the concerto competition. The winner of the competition will be announced at the end of the concert. \nThe audience will savour the aspiring pianists’ interpretations of Frédéric Chopin’s absolutely ravishing piano concertos no. 1 and no. 2. DESCRIPTION:An immersive musical experience is in store for the audience in this year’s CySO & CyYSO side-by-side concert\, the culmination of a rich and fruitful artistic season. Around one hundred professional and young musicians will join their forces\, performing with heightened passion three masterworks\, under the baton of the distinguished Cypriot maestro Petros Stylianou. \n Τhe concert will open with Nimrod from Edward Elgar’s “Enigma Variations”\, a solemn\, yet deeply emotional piece of music that conveys the nobility and depth of character of Augustus J. Jaeger\, a close friend and supporter of Elgar’s work. \nThe featured soloist in Camille Saint-Saens’ Cello concerto no. 1 in A minor is the talented young cellist Vasilios Argyridis\, principal cellist of the Cyprus Youth Symphony Orchestra.
