The Cypriot maestro Kyriaki Kountouri returns to the podium of the CySO to conduct this exciting programme. \nThe Demon of Fornication for two vocal interpreters and symphony orchestra by Christos Pittas will receive its world premiere\, featuring as soloists the acclaimed opera singers Christos Kechris – tenor and bass-baritone Dionisos Tsantinis. The work is based on the excerpt of the same title from “The Chronicle” by Leontios Machairas and Giorgos Seferis’ eponymous poem. \nEvagoras Karageorgis’ Irene which is based on the technique of loop\, will also receive its first performance. The piece I…ZO by Andy Skordi is inspired by the perception that life constantly moves without arriving but simply changes direction. Naked branches\, I for string orchestra by Christina Athinodorou engages with the concept of abandonment and resurrection\, inspired by the vision of a leafless tree.
