DESCRIPTION:“Prometheas” String Quartet is made up of four young renowned and highly distinguished Cypriot artists: Nikos Pittas\, violin\, Iraklis Mitellas\, violin\, Miranda Papaneocleous\, cello – members of the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra – and Nicolas Papageorgio\, viola – frequent collaborator with the Orchestra. \n‘Winter Dreams’ is one of their four projects focusing on the four seasons. In this programme they will take us on a dreamlike journey into the colours\, moods and sensations of Winter\, starting from Antonio Vivaldi’s ‘Winter’ concerto and ending with Astor Piazzolla’s ‘Winter’ (Invierno porteno)\, whilst ‘travelling’ through popular works by Mozart\, Dvořák\, Brahms\, Rachmaninov\, Granados\, Sibelius\, Ravel\, Anderson\, Phanos Dymiotis and Hadjidakis! \nTo give you a glimpse\, these include Brahms’ Hungarian Dance no. 1\, Rachmaninov’s Vocalise\, Spanish Dance no. 5 by Granados and Sibelius’ Valse triste\, arranged for string quartet.
