We are however thrilled that the highly awarded violinist Stephen Waarts\, a rapidly rising star of the violin\, has been secured as his replacement. Stephen Waarts’ innate and poetic musical voice has established him as a firm favourite with audiences. Stephen Waarts will interpret the highly virtuosic Violin Concerto by Jean Sibelius and the concert will close with Johannes Brahms’ melodious\, full of emotional contrasts\,Second Symphony.\n	 \n	Stephen Waarts has performed in prestigious concerts halls and festivals in Europe and the US\, with renowned orchestras andconductors including Christoph Eschenbach\, Marin Alsop\, Constantinos Carydis and Nicholas McGegan. During the 2022/23 season\, Waarts is making his debuts with the Konzerthausorchester Berlin with Stephanie Childress\, and Israel Philharmonic Orchestra with Sir András Schiff. In 2022\, Alpha Classics released Waarts’ first concerto recording: Mozart Violin Concerto no.1 with the Camerata Schweiz under Howard Griffiths. In the specially designed SEK parking place\, behind the Theatre\, the stage of the Cyprus Rialto World Music Festival is set up for another year\, ready to welcome under the stars\, bands and musicians.\n	 \n	This year’s Festival program continues\, as in recent years\, to focus on bands and musicians active in Cyprus\, giving them the opportunity to present to the audience their latest work. The six bands\, selected through an open call for applications\, will feature music that combines rhythms\, colors and sounds. Music where the tradition meets jazz\, flamenco\, the sounds of the East and the Mediterranean\, giving the opportunity to locals and visitors to Cyprus to appreciate lesser known music\, but recognizable and fascinating.\n	 \n	In the framework of the Cyprus Rialto World Music Festival\, the successful institution of Rialto Residency takes place for the 10th consecutive year. \n\n	ChoralCrossroads is an institution of Epilogi Cultural Movement that started in 2011 and continued in 2013\, 2018 and 2019 with the participation of hundreds of choirs from Europe and the Arab world. This institution continued in 2021\, where\, in the midst of a pandemic\, 42 choirs from 6 countries\, using technology\, united their voices by performing the well-known Cypriot song “The Milia”.\n	 \n	In this year’s event\, choirs from Europe and the Arab world meet again with choirs from Cyprus\, creating together a choir and an original program which combines the musical tradition of their countries\, with songs dedicated to woman and life. The result of the four-day collaboration (14th – 17th of July) of this multinational choir will be presented to the public\, in the context of CyprusRialtoWorldMusicFestival.\n	 \n	Choir members participate from Jordan (Nai Choir)\, Lebanon (UniversitéSaint – JosephChoir)\, Greece (Choir of I.N. The protagonist of the story is an adventurous chicklet named Kiki\, which will come to life through storytelling\, projected illustrations and live music.\n \nKiki makes a journey in America which starts from San Francisco\, passes through the Grand Canyon and ends in New York City – the “Big Apple”! During her trip\, Kiki will discover music by American and European composers inspired by the natural beauty of America\, melodies of Native Americans and Afroamericans\, Latin music and Jazz. Moreover\, the work “New York Suite” by Cypriot composer Tasos Stylianou that has been specially commissioned for this programme by the CySO Foundation\, will embody the sounds of New York!\n \nThese family – educational concerts include interactive musical activities between the musicians\, the music educators and the children. A brief workshop will follow where the children will have the opportunity to try some of the instruments of the orchestra.\n \nThe main goal of the concerts and workshops is to promote musical exposition and education of children from the early years of their life.Specifically\, they aim to introduce children to classical and jazz music\, the instruments of the symphony orchestra and cultivate their musicality in creative ways. The children will have the opportunity to experience music through emotional expression\, movement\, language\, the use of imagination and creation of their own drawings. The philosophy of the educational family concerts derives from the idea that “Creative adults come from creative children\, and only a creative society can change the world creatively” (E.
