Six <\/strong>bands <\/strong>participate at the <\/strong>17th <\/sup>Cyprus Rialto World Music <\/strong>Festival<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n\tFrom 18th<\/sup> \u2013 28th<\/sup> of July @Rialto<\/strong>Open<\/strong>Air<\/strong>!<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

\n\tRialto Theatre adapts to the weather, goes outside and is converted again to Rialto Open Air. In the specially designed SEK parking place, behind the Theatre, the stage of the Cyprus Rialto World Music Festival is set up for another year, ready to welcome under the stars, bands and musicians.
\n\t 
\n\tThis year’s Festival program continues, as in recent years, to focus on bands and musicians active in Cyprus, giving them the opportunity to present to the audience their latest work. The six bands, selected through an open call for applications, will feature music that combines rhythms, colors and sounds. Music where the tradition meets jazz, flamenco, the sounds of the East and the Mediterranean, giving the opportunity to locals and visitors to Cyprus to appreciate lesser known music, but recognizable and fascinating.
\n\t 
\n\tIn the framework of the Cyprus Rialto World Music Festival, the successful institution of Rialto Residency takes place for the 10th consecutive year.<\/p>\n

\n\tChoralCrossroads is an institution of Epilogi Cultural Movement that started in 2011 and continued in 2013, 2018 and 2019 with the participation of hundreds of choirs from Europe and the Arab world. This institution continued in 2021, where, in the midst of a pandemic, 42 choirs from 6 countries, using technology, united their voices by performing the well-known Cypriot song “The Milia”.
\n\t 
\n\tIn this year’s event, choirs from Europe and the Arab world meet again with choirs from Cyprus, creating together a choir and an original program which combines the musical tradition of their countries, with songs dedicated to woman and life. The result of the four-day collaboration (14th \u2013 17th<\/sup> of July) of this multinational choir will be presented to the public, in the context of CyprusRialtoWorldMusicFestival.
\n\t 
\n\tChoir members participate from Jordan (<\/strong>Nai Choir<\/strong>)<\/strong>, Lebanon (<\/strong>Universit\u00e9<\/strong>Saint – <\/strong>Joseph<\/strong>Choir<\/strong>)<\/strong>, Greece (Choir of I.N. Methodios and Kyrillos of Thessaloniki)<\/strong>, Serbia (<\/strong>Music College of Belgrade) <\/strong>andCyprus (Epilogi Choirs)<\/strong>.

\n\tThe ChoralCrossroads iscomplemented by the songwriter and performer Polixeni Karakoglou <\/strong>from Greece, the Turkish Cypriot conductor Hare<\/strong>Yakula <\/strong>and Diana<\/strong>Talhami, <\/strong>conductor from Jordan.
\n\t 
\n\tWith the participation of the musicians: Kostas Apokidis <\/strong>– guitar, Stelios Olympios <\/strong>– mandolin, bouzouki, Nikos Pantechis <\/strong>– accordion, Ioannis Karseras <\/strong>– double bass, Korina Vassiliou <\/strong>– piano and Alexandros Charalambous <\/strong>– percussion.
