The Cyprus Strollers is a unique hiking club\, broad reaching\, with a dedicated website in English. It is offering walks mainly of moderate duration (2 1/2 -3 1/2 hours)\, suitable for families\, hikers and nature lovers with an average fitness and an appetite to discover the natural beauties of Cyprus. Each walk announcement includes reference to the degree of difficulty. DESCRIPTION:Lefkosia: Wednesday 29 May 2024 – American Medical Center\, 10:00\n	Pafos: Friday 31 May 2024 – Tala Amphitheatre\, 20:00\n	On the 30 May\, the Orchestra will also perform at the Central Prisons\n	 \n	In this community outreach programme\, the CySO reaches out to two particularly sensitive groups of our fellow citizens\, to spread the energizing\, joyful vibes of its music-making through a selection of the most radiant romantic music. After many years\, the orchestra returns to the entrance hall of the American Medical Centre as well as in the amphitheatre of the Central Prisons\, whilst also re-visiting the beautiful community of Tala in Pafos.  \n	The concerts will be conducted by the promising young Cypriot maestro Andreas Asiikkis in his debut with the CySO.\n	 \n	Ludwig van Beethoven: The creatures of Prometheus\, op. 43: Οverture\n	Felix Mendelssohn: The Hebrides overture\, op. 26\n	Gioacchino Rossini: La scala di seta: Οverture\n	Edward Elgar: Salut d’ amour\n	Nikos Skalkottas: Five Greek Dances for string orchestra\n	Johannes Brahms: Symphony no. 3 in F major\, 3rd mvt\n	Stelios Pissis: The waltz of hope\n	 \n	Andreas Asiikkisconductor\n	 \n	Entrance Free\n	 \n	In collaboration with the Tala Community Council\n	ANDREAS ASIIKKIS is a Cypriot conductor based in Manchester\, UK.\n	 \n	While working towards his Master’s in Conducting at the Royal Northern College of Music\, Andreas has conducted new works performances\, family concerts\, and has assisted conductors such as Martyn Brabbins\, Sir Andrew Davis\, Juanjo Mena\, John Storgårds\, and Joshua Weilerstein at the BBC Philharmonic and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. Most notably\, in January 2024 he conducted a world premiere in a side-by-side concert with the BBC Philharmonic and RNCM students\, recorded for BBC Radio 3.\n	 \n	Previously\, he studied Orchestral Conducting with Miltos Logiadis at the Ionian University\, graduating at the top of his class. While in Corfu\, he served as assistant conductor to Alkis Baltas at the Philharmonic Society of Corfu Symphony Orchestra\, and created a youth orchestra at the Ionian Conservatory focusing on film music.
