As one of the star ingredients of the classic Greek salad, Feta is a soft, skinless cheese that originates from Greece, but has been embraced by the island and incorporated into its local cuisine.

Feta is made either from sheep’s milk, or a mixture of sheep and goat milk and is preserved in its own brine. It is matured in wooden barrels for at least two months.

Along with Greek salad, it can also be enjoyed in slices with olive oil and oregano, or crumbled on top of hot dishes such as pasta.
