Wine - Flavors of Cyprus
“WINE - FLAVORS OF CYPRUS» event is addressed to all Cypriot wine lovers and foreigners who live in Cyprus as well as all foreign visitors who will be on the island during this period and is targeting:
  1. To project the Cypriot wine made from mainly indigenous but also various international grape varieties that are being cultivated in Cyprus, to bring the visitor in direct contact with the wine producers/oenologists/winemakers and to exchange opinions and experiences, to get to know and have the opportunity to taste the award winning wines of the 13th Cyprus Wine Competition.
  2. To acknowledge the continuous development and rising path of the Cypriot wines through the simple and also the comparative tasting.
  3. To provide the visitors the opportunity to participate in workshops and become aware of:
    • The proper way of serving the wines
    • The art of tasting the wines and the pairing of wines from the indigenous varieties and the Commandaria with various traditional products.
    • The process of producing ‘palouze’ which the visitor will have the chance to taste
    • The proper way of the production of the ‘Zivania’ as one of the noble wine products. During the ‘Zivania’ production, information about the harmful effects of the higher alcohols which come from the first extraction of ‘Zivania’ will be shared with the visitors and they will also be informed that same must not be consumed.
