“Prometheas” String Quartet is made up of four young renowned and highly distinguished Cypriot artists: Nikos Pittas, violin, Iraklis Mitellas, violin, Miranda Papaneocleous, cello \u2013 members of the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra \u2013 and Nicolas Papageorgio, viola \u2013 frequent collaborator with the Orchestra.<\/p>\n

\u2018Winter Dreams\u2019 is one of their four projects focusing on the four seasons. In this programme they will take us on a dreamlike journey into the colours, moods and sensations of Winter, starting from Antonio Vivaldi’s \u2018Winter\u2019 concerto and ending with Astor Piazzolla’s \u2018Winter\u2019 (Invierno porteno), whilst \u2018travelling\u2019 through popular works by Mozart, Dvo\u0159\u00e1k, Brahms, Rachmaninov, Granados, Sibelius, Ravel, Anderson, Phanos Dymiotis and Hadjidakis!<\/p>\n

To give you a glimpse, these include Brahms\u2019 Hungarian Dance no. 1, Rachmaninov\u2019s Vocalise, Spanish Dance no. 5 by Granados and Sibelius\u2019 Valse triste, arranged for string quartet. This is a truly inspired programme that will keep you mesmerized!<\/p>\n

\u201cPROMETHEAS\u201d STRING QUARTET<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>\u201cPrometheas\u201d String Quartet is active in the field of classical music and has performed with great success many Pancyprian premieres.<\/p>\n

Some of the works they have presented include Mozart’s piano concertos for quartet and piano, with distinguished pianists Elena Mouzala, Manolis Neophytou, and Nicholas Melis, as well as works by Cypriot composers such as Andreas Argyrou, Alkis Baltas and Solon Michailides.<\/p>\n

Future performances of \u201cPrometheas\u201d String Quartet include concerts in Cyprus as well as abroad in Munich, Cologne, Austria, Athens, Minsk, Serbia, and Spain.<\/p>\n
