SUMMARY:What the Butler Saw
DESCRIPTION:What the Butler Saw\, is an intensely funny farce set in the sexually charged private clinic of psychiatrist\, Dr. Prentice.\n As the play opens\, Dr. Prentice is interviewing the young\, attractive Geraldine Barclay to be his new secretary. During her brief interview\, she reveals that she has recently lost her adoptive mother after a gas explosion\, and does not know the true parentage of either of her parents. Unbeknownst to Geraldine\, Dr. Prentice is also doing his best to seduce her but his efforts are thwarted throughout the course of the day.\n As Geraldine undresses behind a screen (as part of Dr. Prentice’s “examination”)\, the psychiatrist’s wife\, Mrs. Prentice\, interrupts them\, dressed only in her underwear. While Geraldine is concealed\, it emerges that Mrs. Prentice is being blackmailed by a young bellboy named Nicholas Beckett\, after spending the night with him at the Station Hotel.\n To avoid scandal\, she promises the post of secretary to Beckett\, unaware that her husband is interviewing Geraldine for the same position. Mayhem ensues as Geraldine\, Beckett\, and a local policeman\, Sergeant Match\, all disrobe and swap clothes as Dr. Prentice attempts to keep some sort of order in his chaotic clinic. Dr. Rance\, a crazed psychiatrist\, comes to the clinic in the midst of the chaos to carry out a government inspection. As he diagnoses madness all round\, and subsequently tries to section most of those present\, the truth about Geraldine and Nicholas Beckett’s parentage is revealed.\n Both Geraldine and Nicholas reveal halves of a locket that was given to them by their birth mother before she abandoned them. Mrs. Prentice recognizes the locket\, revealing that she was seduced in a closet at the Station Hotel\, while working as a chambermaid shortly before her marriage. Dr. Prentice then reveals that the locket was originally his and given to the woman whom he also seduced before his marriage. Realizing their pre-marital liaison\, the couple are amazed\, yet strangely delighted\, by their incestuous behavior towards their newly discovered children. The strange group leave the clinic\, bedraggled and disrobed\, to face the world together. \n *suitable for people over 15 years old\n		 \n Translation: Andreas Christodoulidis\, Maria Karsera\n Director / Lighting design: Andreas Christodoulidis\n Sets / Costumes: Maria Chatzikleanthous\n Assistant director: Eleni Anastasiou\n Photography: Dimitris Vattis\n Poster design: Giannos Christoforou\n Playing (in order of appearance): Myria Argyrou\, Sotiris Mestanas Angelina Mitka\, Antonis Parkharidis\, Michalis Christou\, Nektarios Loizidis \n Venue: \n Theatro Ena\n Postal address: 4 Athinas Avenue\, 1016 Lefkosia\n Phone number: +357 22348203\n Website: www.theatroena.com.cy\n Social media: https://www.facebook.com/theatroena\n https://www.instagram.com/theatroena/?hl=el \n Start date/End date:   04/05/2022 – 21/05/2022 \n Start time/End time:  Every Friday\, Saturday at 20:30 and every Sunday at 19:00 \n Entrance Price/Τicket:  €15 & €10 \n		  \n\nOrganiser Contact Details \nName: Theatro ena\nTelephone: 22348203\nEmail: theatroena@cytanet.com.cy\nPostal Address: 4 Athinas Avenue\, 1016 Lefkosia

The protagonist of the story is an adventurous chicklet named Kiki\, which will come to life through storytelling\, projected illustrations and live music.\n \nKiki makes a journey in America which starts from San Francisco\, passes through the Grand Canyon and ends in New York City – the “Big Apple”! A brief workshop will follow where the children will have the opportunity to try some of the instruments of the orchestra.\n \nThe main goal of the concerts and workshops is to promote musical exposition and education of children from the early years of their life.Specifically\, they aim to introduce children to classical and jazz music\, the instruments of the symphony orchestra and cultivate their musicality in creative ways. The children will have the opportunity to experience music through emotional expression\, movement\, language\, the use of imagination and creation of their own drawings. SUMMARY:Open call for the urban sketch walks workshops\, by Phaneromenis 70 / Museum Days
DESCRIPTION:OPEN CALL FOR THE URBAN SKETCH WALKS WORKSHOPS\, BY PHANEROMENIS 70 / Museum Days \n\n	 \n\n	Phaneromenis 70\, in collaboration with artists Chloe Finn\, Michalis Charalambous and Nikoletta Papamichael\, organizes three workshops titled Urban Sketch Walks! The workshops will take place on the 21st May\, 25th and 28th of May and will involve walking and sketching around the city of Nicosia\, and each workshop will focus on a different characteristic feature of the town: architecture\, the people\, and nature!\n\n	All the workshops will start from Phaneromenis 70 building\, and the sketches/drawings which will be conducted during them will be exhibited in the library of Phaneromenis Church.\n	 \n\n	Our aim?\n\n	To be able and examine your own point of view of the town\, through art!\n	 \n\n	Every artist will be able to take up on 15 people and due to limited seats\, we would kindly like to ask you to book your participation by sending us an email at phaneromenis70center1@gmail.com or by calling us here 22663320.\n	 \n\n	When you book your seat\, please let us know which thematic you would like to participate in!\n	 \n\n	We are waiting all of you for four unique workshops that will make you discover faces\, architectural details and the nature of Nicosia!\n\n	\n	Venue:\n	Phaneromenis 70 Cultural Centre\, Stoa Papadopoulou\, Phaneromenis Square\n\n	\n	Dates:\n\n	Saturday\, May 21st\, 09:30-12:30 & 16:30-19:30\n\n	Wednesday\, May 25th\, 16:30-19:30\n\n	Saturday\, May 28th\, 09:30-12:30\n\n	 \n\n	Our artists:\n	 \n\n	Nicoletta Papamichael\n\n	Nicoletta Papamichael was born in Larnaca in 1977. She studied Fine Arts at the Florence Academy of Fine Arts\, where from she graduated with distinction in 2001.\n\n	 \n\n	In 2002 she entered in the Complutense University of Madrid\, and followed a Masters course titled Theory and Practice of the Contemporary Art.\n\n	In 2006 she was accepted at a PhD programme of the same University under the general title “drawing and engraving\, teaching and creativity”. She has successfully finished its first part with her thesis: “Self portrait: the Art to share Intimacy”.\n\n	Terms as Intimacy\, Private and Personal as well as their role in the artistic creation\, are questions that preoccupy her both in her artistic and theoretical research.\n\n	Nicoletta has presented three solo exhibitions in Cyprus and two solo presentations in Madrid and has presented her work in Florence\, Madrid\, Barcelona and Berlin\, as well as in many group exhibitions in Cyprus.\n\n	 \n\n	Chloe Finn\n\n	Chloe Finn was born in Thessaloniki in 1989 to a Greek mother and an Australian father. She studied Product Design in Central St.Martins\, London and has worked in a variety of arts and crafts. Her works are on-location illustrations\, from real places she meets in her travels\, cities she visits and houses and interiors that inspire her. Her passion for capturing landscapes led her to collaborate with various groups\, environmental and cultural organizations\, creating images\, graphics and illustrating children’s books.\n\n	She has been living and working in Cyprus for the last four years\, dealing with artist groups\, workshops and social projects.\n\n	 \n\n	 \n\n	Michalis Charalambous\, born in 1987\, is a Visual Artist.  Michalis’ practice includes ceramic\, filmmaking and painting. He graduated from the Fine Arts School of Visual and Applied Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2013. His Master dissertation (MA\, Open University of Cyprus\, 2019) focuses on the activity and influence of independent Artist-Run spaces in Cyprus. He has participated in national and international festivals and exhibitions like the 16th Venice Biennale of Architecture (Cyprus Pavilion\, 2018)\, the 6th Thessaloniki Biennale of Contemporary Art (2017\, “Imagined Homes”)\,  the special screening program at 58th  Thessaloniki International film Festival\,  the Athens Ethnographic Film Festival (2016) with the documentary “Anamones” and the PAFOS 2017 group exhibition “Weaving Europe”. Finally\, he has been hosted in artist residencies in Lecce/ Puglia\, IT (BJCEM\, “LandXcape”) and in Barcelona\, SP (Can Serrat).\n\n	Through his practice\, Michalis Charalambous explores the boundaries between space\, body\, object and identity in our time using digital technology and traditional media. He examines the contradictory terms of analogue and digital\, physical and virtual environment\, material and intangible. His work aims to interpret a non-specific context defined by symbolism. It suggests different ways of touching a vessel to interpret the interaction between the meta-human\, the object and the space. \n\n	His artistic practice takes references from ancient vessels dating to different historical cultures which\, blended with poetic narratives\, sculptural practices and 3d modeling lead to new\, hybrid forms. At the same time\, Michalis makes use of the method of “still life photography” as a mean of alternative interpretation and approach concerning the context of an image. In this context\, photography operates as a medium associated to cultural and political significances rather than an ordinary scientific tool.\n\n	 \n\n	 \n\n	Book your participation by sending us an email at phaneromenis70center1@gmail.com or by calling us here 22663320 \n
