SUMMARY:The Life Story of Anne Frank: “Let me be Myself”
DESCRIPTION:The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Cyprus\, the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam and the Municipality of Paralimni organize the photo exhibition The Life Story of Anne Frank: “Let me be myself” which will be hosted at the Municipal Hall of Paralimni from Saturday 5 November 2022 until Tuesday\, November 15\, 2022.\n	 \n	The opening ceremony will be held by the Mayor of Paralimni\, Mr. Theodoros Pyrillis\, and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands\, Ms. Elke Merks-Schaapveld\, on Friday\, November 4\, 2022 at 7:00 PM at the Paralimni Town Hall.\n	 \n	Dates and hours of operation:\n	Saturday 5 November 2022 – Tuesday 15 November 2022\n	Monday – Friday 08:00-14:30 and Saturday and Sunday 09:00-13:00.\n	 \n	Free Entrance\n	 \n	The exhibition\n	 \n	The educational exhibition Let Me Be Myself – The Life Story of Anne Frank tells the story of Anne Frank and the Holocaust and challenges visitors to consider more general issues such as identity\, prejudice and discrimination.\n	 \n	Historical Content\n	 \n	The historical part of the “Let Me Be Myself” exhibition helps visitors identify with Anne Frank’s personal story. Large-scale photographs depict Anna’s happy early childhood in Frankfurt\, and then the family’s migration to Amsterdam.\n	 \n	In a sequential manner\, the exhibition connects the personal history of the Frank family with the important historical events of the time: the rise of the Nazis\, Germany’s isolation and discrimination against the Jewish population\, culminating in the Holocaust.\n	 \n	Some sections of the exhibition contain images of the house in the center of Amsterdam where the Frank family hid for more than two years. These sections also contain pictures and texts about the outside world of that time: they show the Netherlands under Nazi occupation\, the deportations and the concentration camps.\n	 \n	Anne Frank today\n	 \n	The contemporary section of the exhibition includes stories of young people today. It explores four general themes drawn from the story of Anne Frank:\n\n	• Identity: how do we perceive our own identity? Is it different from how others perceive us?\n	• Individuals as group members: which group do we belong to? How do others describe us?\n	• Discrimination? What happens when others don’t accept us?\n	• Response: What can we do against discrimination?\n	 \nVenue:\nParalimni Town Hall\nPostal address: 6 Antonis Papadopoulos avenue\nPhone number: +357 23819300\nWebsite: www.paralimni.org.cy\nSocial media: https://www.facebook.com/paralimnimunicipality/ \nStart date / End date:  8-15 November 2022 \nStart time/End time:  Monday – Friday 08:00-14:30 and Saturday – Sunday 09:00-13:00 \n\nFree Entrance \n \nOrganiser Contact Details \nTelephone: 23819300\nEmail: info@paralimni.org.cy\nPostal Address: 6 Antonis Papadopoulos Avenue\, 5310 Paralimni

The WIP Festival looks at this Brave New Humanity that explores how our sensorial\, analogue selves fabricate new civilizations and augmented worlds that are simultaneously close and far from the “natural”\, as D. Norman argues in “The Invisible Computer” (1998).\n \nThe emerging conceptual clusters – Raw\, Mechanos\, Transience and Play – include projects that act as critical commentaries\, inquiries\, and aestheticisms on the shifting environmental and human conditions.\n \nRAW presents projects that reveal unfamiliar relations and reciprocations between natural resourcesand technology\, critically commenting on contemporary tensions\, and showing the shifting environmental and human conditions through the looking glass.\n \nMECHANOS brings to the foreground ongoing research projects that utilize cutting-edgetools and processesfor creative and technical purposes. The tangible prototypes and emerging applicationspresented shift the human-serving epicentre of technology to a human-environmental direction\, sensitive to the complexities of the natural world.\n \nTRANSIENCE includes projects looking into the post-human condition\, narrating – or even actualizing– augmented and imaginary realities through interfaces and virtual spaces.\n \nPLAY invites you to a meta-arcade\, exploring the digital revolution’s disruptions as interactive reprojections and gamification.\n \nThis year’s featured artworks\, talks\, and workshops are situated supra-locally\, amongst the feverishly changing landscape created by the collision of novel natural and technological environments\, fertilizing our immediate future. \nVenue: \nName: CYENS’ premises and other venues in the proximity of the center\nPostaladdress: Dimarchias Square 23\, Nicosia 1016 Cyprus\nPhone number: +357 22 747575\nWebsite:https://wip.cyens.org.cy/\nSocial media: https://www.facebook.com/CYENSCoE/ \nStart date / End date: 11 – 23 November 2022 \nStart time / End time: 11 Νovember (opening event): 16:30 – 23:00\n                                     12 – 23 Νοεμβριου: 11:00 – 19:00 \nEntrance Ticket: FREE \nFor the programme please click here \nEvent Website: https://wip.cyens.org.cy/\nOrganiser Website: https://makerspace.cyens.org.cy/ \nSocial Media Channels of Event and/or of Event Organiser:  \nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/469730341889058/?ref=newsfeed\nhttps://www.instagram.com/cyens_coe/?hl=en \n \nOrganiser Contact Details \nName: CYENS Thinker Maker Space\nTelephone: +357 22 747575\nEmail: tmscontact@cyens.org.cy\nPostal Address: Dimarchias Square 23\, Nicosia 1016 Cyprus
