DESCRIPTION:The “Leptos Cyprus International 4-day Challenge” is a staged running event\, successfully combining a 6k time trial\, an 11k mountain trail run\, a multiterrain half marathon\, and a 10k City Run over four consecutive days\, covering a distance slightly longer than a marathon. \nThe event takes place in the area of Paphos\, and for the most part of it\, participants have the opportunity to compete in the AKAMAS Nature Reserve Park\, in some of Cyprus most scenic routes\, where every turn comes with a different stunning view\, unfolding the beauty of the AKAMAS Nature Reserve Park in a panoramic sea-sky-earth motif.\nA unique event that attracts runners from all over the world to compete\, have fun and enjoy a friendly atmosphere. \nDay 1: Coral Beach 6k – Time Trial \nStarts by the Coral Beach Hotel & Resort Harbour – Finishes in front of the Ship Wreck. \nDay 2: Akamas 11k Trail Hill Run \nStarts at Toxeftra Beach (entrance of Akamas) – Finishes at Pano Arodes village square. \nDay 3: Akamas Multiterrain ½ Marathon \nStarts by the square of Neo Chorio village  – Finishes at Toxeftra Beach (entrance of Akamas) \nDay 4: 10k Paphos City Run \nStarts & finishes in front of the Medieval Castle square in Kato Paphos. \nRace is also open to runners not participating in the other 3 races of the challenge \n  \nRegistration will take place 20 & 21 November 2024 at Coral Beach Hotel & Resort in Paphos: \n25 November 09:00-18:00 \n26 November 08:00-11:00 \n  \nFOR THE PROGRAMME CLICK HERE

SUMMARY:Cyprus Backyard Ultra - 13.3.2027
DESCRIPTION:Cyprus Backyard Ultra (CBU) is the island’s only official Backyard Ultra endurance race and the only ultramarathon event of its kind in Cyprus\, held annually in the Larnaca region. The race follows the internationally recognized format created by Lazarus Lake (USA)\, where athletes must complete a 6.706 km loop every hour\, on the hour\, until only one runner remains. \nThere is no predefined distance or time limit. The race continues for as long as participants can endure\, testing both physical and mental strength. Any runner who fails to complete a loop within the hour is eliminated\, making this one of the most unique and demanding formats in endurance sports. \nThe course takes place on scenic trail routes with natural terrain\, offering panoramic views and a challenging elevation profile\, while remaining accessible for both participants and spectators. \nCBU has developed a strong international character\, attracting 100+ athletes from 18 countries in its latest edition. The steadily increasing participation and performance levels highlight the rapid growth of ultra running in Cyprus and position the event as a key destination for endurance athletes. \nThe race is officially listed on the global Backyard Ultra platform\, with results published on international databases such as DUV Ultra Marathon Statistics\, and contributes to national team selection for the Backyard Ultra World Team Championships.
