Fontana Amorosa (Fountain of Love) is an exceptional diving site where crystal-clear, turquoise waters invite divers to explore a labyrinth of rocky reefs and canyon walls that lead to deeper underwater adventures.
Centuries ago, the site served as a harbour used for commercial activities. The only remnants of its bustling past are the ancient amphorae hidden on the seabed, among underwater hills and valleys – offerings left by the Romans to the gods in exchange for prosperity.
Shy marine creatures hide in the crevices and holes of the natural rock formations, including crabs, cuttlefish, groupers, lionfish, moray eels, sea urchins and shrimps. Silver-cheeked toadfish can also be spotted in the sandy areas.
The luckiest divers may also encounter the rare nudibranch Tricolour Doris, a truly spectacular sight.
The site is ideal for beginners, offering an easy and relaxing diving experience.
