The concertmaster Wolfgang Schroeder, the principal cellist Jakub Otčenašék and the principal viola Kumiko Okutomi of the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra, alongside the distinguished pianist Gergana Georgieva join forces to present two landmarks of the Romantic chamber repertoire. In this programme, the CySO Piano Quartet contrast the French refined elegance of Gabriel Faure with the characteristic German passion and drama of Johannes Brahms.

Fauré’s Piano quartet no. 1 in C minor, blends luminous charm with quiet emotional depth, profuse with glowing harmonies and great melodic subtlety. Brahms’ Piano quartet no. 1 in G minor, unfolds with powerful drama and symphonic breadth, culminating in the exhilarating finale Rondo alla Zingarese.
