The WIP Arts & Technology Festival returns with a bold new vision, transforming into a biennial initiative that merges creativity, research, and innovation across disciplines. Organized by the CYENS Centre of Excellence, WIP now unfolds as a two-year cycle—alternating between an
Incubator Year and a Festival Year—designed to deepen impact and expand global reach. This year’s Incubator theme, Invisible Waters, tackles one of Cyprus’s most pressing environmental challenges: water. From November 19 to December 05, WIP LAB 25 invites
artists, scientists, technologists, and the public to engage with water’s hidden dimensions— exploring climate resilience, traditional knowledge, and urban infrastructure through interdisciplinary collaboration.
Set in the heart of Nicosia’s old city, the program features:
• Workshops | November 17–19
Hands-on sessions exploring emerging tools and collaborative creative methods.
• POP UP Lab for Students | November 20–21
A two-day workshop inviting students to address water scarcity and desertification
through artistic research.
• Participatory Installation & Dinner | November 27
A shared installation and dinner experience reflecting on shifting Mediterranean
ecologies.
• Showcase Opening | November 28
Launch of the WIP LAB 25 Showcase with works-in-progress from the residency
programme and a live DJ set.
• Showcase-in-Progress | November 29 – December 11
A living laboratory exhibition where artistic processes unfold in real time.
• Creative Talks & Screenings | November 29 – December 05
Public talks and screenings exploring environmental resilience, memory, and place.
Key venues include the CYENS Agora, STOA building, and Dimarchou Lellou Demetriadi
Square.
