Faros Beach, Pafos (Paphos) – Blue Flag

A naturally beautiful beach with many facilities.

Located at the west end of Pafos (Paphos), the 400-metre long coast of Faros is a naturally beautiful beach that is popular for its stunning views and host of facilities.  

The beach boasts deep golden sands and clean seawaters that have a tendency to become wavy. Facilities on the beach include toilets, showers, changing rooms, sun beds, umbrellas, dustbins and recycling bins.

Aside from swimming, the beach also offers the additional activities of a children’s playground, beach volleyball court and nature trails for taking a stroll, making it a great choice for all, including families with children.

There are also a variety of restaurants, fish taverns, cafes, bars, kiosks, convenience stores and accommodation in the area.

Lifeguards with lifesaving equipment and first aid services are stationed at the beach from April – October.

The beach is a great starting point to explore some of the area’s most famous attractions, including the Medieval castle with its picturesque harbour, the Pafos mosaics and the archaeological site of Tombs of the Kings. Nature lovers will appreciate the lush surroundings and taking in the views, whilst all will appreciate a wander around the harbour with its pretty bobbing boats.

Alykes Beach – Blue Flag

A great beach in the heart of Pafos (Paphos) tourist area.

Located in the tourist area of Kato Pafos, the 200-metre long coast of Alykes boasts deep golden sands, calm, clean seawaters and abundant greenery.

Facilities on the beach include toilets, changing rooms, sun beds, umbrellas, dustbins, and water sports. There are also a variety of restaurants, fish taverns, cafes, bars, kiosks, convenience stores and accommodation in the area.

Lady’s Mile Beach

An unspoiled and beautiful coastline.

Located in Lemesos (Limassol), this 5 km coastal stretch of stunning, unspoiled sands and shallow waters runs along the east side of Akrotiri.

The beach boasts dark grey sands and crystal-clear and calm seawaters, with the shallowest waters found at the southern end of the beach – where the dark grey sand turns a golden brown colour. Seashells can be found along the beach.

Facilities on the beach include toilets, showers, changing rooms, sun beds, and umbrellas.

The beach took its name from the mare of the governor during British rule, who used to ride along the beach. Today, the area is well-known locally for its restaurants of fresh fish and traditional Cypriot cuisine. Some of the restaurants offer their own additional facilities, including water inflatables and games for children.

Around 1.5 km from the seashore you can see Akrotiri Salt Lake, a significant wetland in Europe, which attracts migrating birds, including flocks of vibrant pink flamingos and herons during the winter months. Further south of Lady’s Mile is the unspoiled area of Button Beach, where small coastal sand dunes have grown. The interesting Holy Monastery of St. Nicholas of the Cats – built in 365 – is also located nearby.

Vouppa Beach – Blue Flag

The favourite beach for year-round swimmers.

Located at the famous coastal resort of Agios Tychonas in the Lemesos (Limassol) district, the beach of Vouppa attracts swimmers all-year-round thanks to its clean and calm seawaters, protected from winds.

The sandy beach is set within greenery and is divided into three sections of organised facilities that include toilets, showers, changing rooms, sun beds, umbrellas and water sports. There are also a variety of accommodation, restaurants and kiosks in the general area.

Santa Barbara Beach – Blue Flag

A beach that offers snorkelling and ancient history.

Located at the famous coastal resort of Agios Tychonas in the Lemesos (Limassol) district, the beach of Santa Barbara is peaceful and chic.

Comprised of sand with some rocks, the clean seawaters are further enhanced by an artificial reef, with the ancient Amathounta port offering excellent opportunities for snorkelling. There is a scenic footpath that leads westwards, passing the ancient city and the port of Amathounta.

Pissouri Beach – Blue Flag

The naturally stunning resort of the greater Lemesos (Limassol) area.

Located 30km west of Lemesos [midway between Lemesos and Pafos (Paphos)], Pissouri Bay is the tourist resort of the village of Pissouri. The coast has seen its popularity soar thanks to its stunning, natural beauty and the resort facilities now found in the area.

The beach has fine, golden sands, multicoloured small pebbles, and its clean waters are relatively calm. Its surroundings are further enhanced by the spectacular white cliffs of Cape Aspro (Cape ‘white’) on either side, making it one of the most picturesque coastlines on the island.

Facilities on the beach include toilets, showers, sun beds, umbrellas, water sports and a beach volleyball court. There are five public footpaths, with two of them offering disabled access.

The west end of the bay leads to the headland of Asprorotsos (‘white rock’) that protrudes from the sea. At its end, there are small, sandy coves. The views from the top are spectacular, whilst you may also get a glimpse of the wild birds that visit the area, including falcons. The beach is often a breeding ground for sea turtles.

The nearby area has a variety of restaurants, cafes, kiosks and shops. The village of Pissouri itself is also worth visiting and retains its charming, traditional character.

Parekklishia Community Beach – Blue Flag

An abundantly sandy coast.

Located in the Lemesos (Limassol) district of Parekklishia, the 400-metre long Parekklishia Community Beach is one of the few beaches in the area that is abundantly sandy.

Its sands are complemented by seawaters that are clean and shallow, making it ideal for families with children, although the sea tends to get wavy in the afternoons.

Facilities on the beach include toilets, showers, sun beds, umbrellas, luxury sun beds, music and beach bars.

There are several beach tennis courts located near the parking area, which is also the beginning of the coastal footpath that links to other beaches. The beach is also popular for walking and jogging.

Panagies Beach – Blue Flag

A prime location by a yacht marina.

Located in the ‘cosmopolitan’ Pyrgos area of the Lemesos (Limassol) district, the beach of Panagies has a touch of glamour, thanks to the yachts moored at the neighbouring marina, which also protects the sandy beach from south-westerly winds.

The clean seawaters here are shallow, making it ideal for families with children. Facilities on the beach include toilets, showers, changing rooms, sun beds and umbrellas. There is a large water sports centre, beach volleyball court and restaurant near to the marina, which has 250 berths and offers a full range of services.

Facilities of the general area include accommodation, restaurants, cafes and kiosks.

A beach active with various summer sports.

Located at the famous coastal resort of Agios Tychonas in the Lemesos (Limassol) district, the beach of Onisilos is a lovely coast comprised of fine, white sands and some pebbles. Its clean seawaters are protected from winds by breakwaters.

Facilities on the beach include toilets, showers, changing rooms, sun beds, umbrellas and watersports – including stand-up-paddle (SUP) – and a restaurant/café. There is a small amphitheatre and a coastal footpath, whilst the beach is popular for beach volleyball, beach tennis and sailing.

Miami Beach – Blue Flag

A beach with views of nautical sports.

Located in Agios Athanasios – the central area of Lemesos (Limassol) – Miami Beach is small in size but offers many facilities, as well as the relaxing view of athlete’s canoeing, sailing and dinghy training, thanks to the two nautical clubs with premises on the beach.

The coast of dark, grey sands and calm, clean seawaters sits in the heart of the city and is surrounded by restaurants and hotels. Breakwaters protect the sea from winds, although it can become wavy in the afternoon. The beach is adjacent to the more crowded Dasoudi Beach.
