Festival of Authentic Traditional Flavours – 11.10.2026

The Association of Lagoudera Residents and Expatriates is organising the Festival of Authentic Traditional Flavours on Sunday, 11 October 2026, from 10:00 to 17:00, at the square of Agios Georgios Church in Lagoudera, Cyprus.

This all-day festival is dedicated to Cypriot gastronomy, traditional flavours, local products and the preservation of our cultural heritage.

Visitors will have the opportunity to discover authentic Cypriot culinary traditions through interactive workshops demonstrating the preparation of traditional halloumi cheese, fresh anari cheese, soutzoukos and palouzes.

Through these activities, visitors of all ages will be able to actively participate in the preparation of traditional products, learn about the ingredients and techniques used, and experience authentic Cypriot traditions firsthand. They will also have the opportunity to taste these freshly prepared traditional delicacies free of charge, enjoying the authentic flavours of the Cypriot countryside.

The festival will also feature stalls offering a variety of traditional Cypriot food and beverages for purchase, including souvla (traditional charcoal-grilled meat), baked potatoes, Cypriot pies, bourekia (traditional pastries), halloumi cheese, palouzes, soutzoukos, wine and zivania, providing visitors with a complete gastronomic experience.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to discover and purchase local products and handmade creations, supporting local producers and artisans.

The festival aims to showcase the rich gastronomic heritage of rural Cyprus, promote and support local producers, and preserve and pass on Cypriot traditions to younger generations through authentic, hands-on experiences.

Admission to the festival and participation in the interactive workshops are free of charge.

The event is held with the sponsorship of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Cyprus.
