One of the most popular freediving destinations in Cyprus is the stunning Cape Greco National Forest Park, where dramatic cliffs plunge into the sea, creating a paradise for underwater adventurers. Here, you can glide through underwater caves, swim alongside curious sea turtles, and immerse yourself in the tranquility of the ocean.

For those seeking a more structured introduction to freediving, Cyprus boasts a number of professional schools and instructors who can guide you through the fundamentals of breath-hold diving in a safe and supportive environment. Whether you are looking to improve your technique, increase your breath-hold capacity, or simply experience the thrill of diving beneath the waves, the expert instructors in Cyprus are here to help you achieve your goals.

So, pack your wetsuit, grab your mask and fins, and prepare to embark on an unforgettable journey into the depths of tranquility. Whether you are drawn to the serene beauty of the underwater world or the exhilarating challenge of pushing your limits, freediving in Cyprus promises an experience like no other.

Come dive into the magic of Cyprus – where every breath is a moment of freedom, and every dive is a step towards discovering the true essence of the sea.

Kiti

Located 11 km southwest of Larnaka, the large coastal community of Kiti is a blend of the old and the new with one of the island’s finest examples of Byzantine art of the Justinian period, and the best beach for the growing sport of kitesurfing.

One of its most defining attractions is the significant Angeloktisti Church, which features a rare 6th century mosaic of the Virgin and Child between two archangels and is featured on the tentative UNSECO World Heritage Site List.

Its famous Softades beach, is the island’s first and only designated beach for wind and kite surfing, and offers some of the best sea and wind conditions in the whole of the Mediterranean region, attracting fans of the sport and hosting world-class tournaments.

Kiti is also home to one of the region’s four Venetian Watchtowers, which is also included in the Thematic Cycle Routes.

Mikri Salamina Sculpture Park – Yiapanis Art Studio

Set among the hills of a typical Cypriot village Fasoula, surrounded by almond and olive trees, this beautifully landscaped Park is a continuous creation of a passionate artist, Philippos Yiapanis. Here, the natural beauty blends with exceptional works of art, the ancient meets the modern, creating balance and harmony.

The Mikri Salamina is an open-air gallery of bronze and marble sculptures, reflecting the life journey of the artist. On the area of 5500 square meters, set on multiple levels, there are around 140 sculptures on permanent exhibition. You can discover them while wandering through stone-cobbled, curvy pathways, elevated terraces and quiet corners. Here, everything you will see is a result of the artist’s vision, hard work, and his attempt to leave something significant behind.  In his art one can find curved shapes, erotic and fertility motives, silhouettes of birds, snails and fishes. Many sculptures present scenes and figures from Greek mythology.

The different sites in the Park were created steadily, over the years: starting with the showroom and workshop, moving to the Amphitheatre, the Gymnasium and now continuing with creating The Waves. First events in the Park were organized by Famagusta Municipality; then, charity events followed to gather money for people in need. The dream of the artist is to now build a big-scale museum, with more space to exhibit his work, host various events and guest exhibitions.

Attending a conference, seminar or professional training in the sun is one of the most motivating incentives for many delegates, and the Cyprus Convention Bureau (CCB) is uniquely placed to offer these services for inspiring and successful business events on Aphrodite’s beautiful island.

There are so many reasons as to why Cyprus is naturally conducive to a positive business outcome… The island has a climate that is particularly favourable in the Mediterranean part of the European Union (EU), with short and mild winters and abundant sunshine for more than 300 days annually. Combining a conference with the many outdoor activities the island offers is easy thanks to this fantastic weather, combined with the short travel distances that link all its regions quickly and efficiently.

As one of the world’s oldest civilisations – with a history of over 11,000 years – delegates can immerse themselves in a wealth of ancient culture, whilst also enjoying a welcome that is as warm as the sands of the many and varied coastal fronts. From delicious cuisine and traditional tavernas to elegant wine bars, and a world of options for relaxation and entertainment, business can be seamlessly combined with pleasure.

Hotel establishments across the island are equipped to hold business events with state-of-the-art conference facilities, and delegates can also opt for the luxury of staying at the same location as your event. Further venues for small conferences, gala dinners, themed nights or opening ceremonies can also be utilised, from purpose-built halls, to more unusual cultural settings such as Medieval castles and ancient amphitheatres.

And when it comes to added incentives, it is difficult to pick from the many wine routes, cruises, sporting activities, team-building pursuits, spa and wellness options and traditional, hands-on experiences available.

The CCB is designed to assist the organisation of business events in Cyprus from abroad and offers an attractive programme of grants, benefits and incentives, with perks such as complimentary giveaways and informative material, to airport Meet and Greet and hospitality vouchers, along with technical and financial support.

With hundreds of conference rooms and the capacity to seat thousands of delegates at business events and host them at hotels, Cyprus has the ability to create meetings with warmth and enthusiasm that will bring the drive for success back home to your business, and leave it with lasting – and motivational – memories of your time on the island.
