In this exciting programme, the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra is happy to renew its collaboration with the prominent Greek maestro Michalis Economou and to welcome the young Polish trumpet soloist Aleksander Kobus on stage for the first time.
 
The distinguished trumpet soloist will be presenting the Cyprus premiere of Krzysztof Penderecki’s highly demanding Concertino for trumpet which he recorded with the Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra conducted by the composer himself. In 2018 the album was nominated for “Fryderyki”, the most prestigious classical music award in Poland. Aleksander Kobus will also be performing Joseph Haydn’s sparkling and delightful Trumpet concerto in E flat.
 
In this versatile concert, the audience will also hear the work Confused Ostinato by the Cypriot composer Akis Pavlou as well as Johannes Brahms’ Second Symphony, a romantic masterpiece which exudes warmth and optimism.
