FINAL CONCERT OF THE CYSO INTERNATIONAL CONDUCTING MASTERCLASS &COMPETITION

The CYPROPHONIA 4 concert is the culmination of the International Conducting Masterclass and Competition of the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra. Ten young rising conductors will conduct works by Mozart, Beethoven and Mahler on which they had the opportunity to work for five days with the internationally established conductor and conducting pedagogue Michalis Economou and the CySO. Michalis Economou is the founder and director of the only national conducting masterclass in Greece as well as of four annual international conducting masterclasses (Hungary-Malta-Romania-Athens).
 
At the end of the concert, the winner of the competition will be announced, who will be invited to conduct a concert with the CySO during one of the forthcoming seasons. The prize winner will be selected by the orchestra musicians.
 
We are proud to be organizing such an important international event for the musical scene of Cyprus, which provides intensive training in orchestral conducting within a nurturing environment to budding, young conductors by a top-notch maestro and conducting pedagogue such as Michalis Economou. At the same time, the event offers the rising conductors the opportunity to perform part of the final public concert and to compete for directing a full concert with the CySO.
